Ocala Sun RV Resort is located off of Interstate 75 in Ocala, FL. It was a nice, clean, convenient place to
stop for one night while passing through. The Ocala Sun had a lot of what
looked like “Snow Birds” (they leave their campers here and visit when the
temps are cooler). Many of the sites had
nice sheds and paver patios. There are 154 sites here but not sure how many
they hold for the “passing through folk” like us.
We arrived late so the office was closed. Our paper work was
clipped to a bulletin board along with a gate code so that we could set-up
camp. I say that with a smile on my face
because this was not a place where you “Set-up camp”. We were the only pop-up camper here and not a
tent in sight. NO fire-ring, NO grill, NO picnic table! I can live without the first two but NO picnic
table!!! I mentioned it to the nice lady working the desk the next day and no
apologies were made when she explained that not all sites had them!
We stayed here in June and it was hot! Our site was wide
open with no shade. We were on site #6 located next to
the bathroom and across from the pool. The bathrooms were extremely clean and
well appointed. At the end of the bathhouse were laundry facilities. What makes
this laundry facility worth mentioning is that it had a waiting room with
table, chairs, fans and a TV! My kids were excited to watch a little TV while
we prepared dinner. After dinner (which
I had to improvise on since there was no grill), we headed over to the
pool!
Let me say that the pool here was amazing! The
hot tub was nice too! The pool area was clean and well maintained and the
landscaping around it was very tropical. We were the only ones in it and had
the place to ourselves. I’m betting this
place is packed when the “snow birds” arrive. Ok, so it is a RV Resort, not a campground… I get it now! This is a lovely place with very friendly
staff. I would definitely stop in here again for a one night stand.
Highlights of this trip: Amazing pool, clean bathrooms, TV
room, and convenience to Interstate 75.
